The publishing world is a dog-eat-dog place.
It doesn't have to be all bad, though. Publishing via blogs, platforms like Medium, and the like, can make writing exciting and can offer writers some interesting opportunities.
With Ghost 3.0, I found that I can support my writing through subscriptions, monthly or yearly, something I hope to build as I move forward. In other words, I hope to monetize my writing efforts in a way that is both innovative and valuable to my readership. I don't like microtransactions. In fact, I hate them. However, I have come to appreciate them, at least when it comes to writing. They allow writers to make an income, while allowing readers to test the waters, to see if they like what they have access to.
Starting in December (2019) or January (2020), I will be experimenting with Ghost 3.x and serialization of a fictional story. I hope to serialize a larger story, something that has been ruminating in my skull for some time now. This story is currently in the outline phase. I will discuss my outlining methods in future installments here in my blog, The Pipeline.
