I'm writing this on Labor Day, of all days, as I am off from work and other obligations that keep me away from my author Website. On this Labor Day, I have decided that I will pursue a different path than I've recently pursued. Publishing, traditional at least, has been largely unsuccesful for me. With that said, I've decided to branch out on my own and do something I will enjoy. I've decided I will begin writing e-serials or Web serials, all hosted on this Website and/or on my author platforms (like Patreon, Ko-Fi, Wattpad, etc.). I've decided that publishing or perishing aren't going to be on the table. Instead, I've decide that I'm going to push forward and write for enjoyment's sake, and I will write to just get things out there, to clear my mind, to explore my favorite subgenres, and the like.
I've spent too much of my adult life trying to get in the door of publishing--whether it be traditional or otherwise. I haven't really spent much time exploring my voice, my use of characterization, and, more importantly, I haven't spent much time enjoying my writing. I want to enjoy writing again. I want to have fun with story and plot. I want to craft memorable experiences and characters.
Thus, I've decided to put much of my publishing on hold, until I've fully explored myself and my writing. For those who've been so supportive of my efforts, thank you. For those joining me for my Web serials, hold on tight. It's going to be a wild ride, one that I hope will be enjoyable and fruitful.
Until next time, folks. Have a wonderful Labor Day.
